Committee Report on Economic Recovery Released

The Parliamentary Committee has released its report on the path to economic recovery for Papua New Guinea. The report highlights the challenges that have affected the economy, including the impact of COVID-19 and global changes, and presents recommendations to address these issues. Committee members emphasized that now is the time to revive business and employment across the country. They outlined strategies such as strengthening small businesses, creating more opportunities in rural areas, and assisting farmers and entrepreneurs to increase their income. The Committee Chair stated, “This report serves as a roadmap for rebuilding our economy. We have worked closely with the people and now have a clear path forward.” The government will review the committee’s recommendations and implement necessary policy and legislative changes in due course.
